Llorenç Soldevila i Balart was a philologist and professor who stood out for his research into the relationship between literature and territory, especially through his magnum opus Geografia Literària dels Països Catalans, a collection of twelve volumes that covers all The Catalan Countries. He was born in Monistrol de Montserrat, from a young age he showed an interest in teaching and cultural activism. He developed a long teaching career in high school, where he published several textbooks and began to explore literary routes as a pedagogical tool, and at university where he became one of the great contemporary researchers on Jacint Verdaguer and a pioneer in the studies of memoirs. He prepared and guided more than two hundred literary routes since 1980, dedicated to authors such as Jacint Verdaguer, Josep Pla and Baltasar Porcel. Through an exhaustive bibliographic inventory, which includes written and audiovisual works published between 1970 and 2024, his work has been compiled, which includes a total of 423 references classified according to the type of document and the chronology of publication. This work, linked to his academic and cultural legacy, consolidates Soldevila as an essential figure in the study and dissemination of Catalan literature, especially in its relationship with geographical space and collective memory. This article dedicated to the work created by Soldevila will be followed by a forthcoming article, aimed to collect the bibliography on Llorenç Soldevila.
